Nutrition and lifestyle habits can affect fertility, conception and the health of a pregnancy. It is important to optimise your food intake and keep active during your fertility journey.
Meet Our Dietitian, Alice Gormack
Alice is a highly-trained NZ registered dietitian. She has specialised in fertility nutrition for over ten years and has been working with the Fertility Associates since 2012.
Alice works with clients to optimise their fertility via simple lifestyle and dietary changes. This may involve gaining or losing some weight, altering the types of foods you choose or your portion sizes, modifying lifestyle factors such as alcohol, smoking or caffeine intake, and reviewing your use of nutritional supplements. Alice offers specialist dietary advice for:
- Those trying to conceive (women and men)
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Insulin resistance or diabetes
- Coeliac disease
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Pregnancy (including food safety and appropriate weight gain)
- Breastfeeding (including safe post-natal weight loss).
Whatever your goals, Alice will work with you to develop a nutrition plan that is easy to follow, fits around your food preferences and lifestyle, and is based on the latest scientific evidence.
Alice offers face-to-face appointments in our main Auckland clinic and video/phone consultations for patients across New Zealand.
